Agate Beach gets it’s name from the abundance of agates found along the Pacific Ocean’s Coast. Unfortunately the beach ceased being productive around the 1960’s according to agate expert K.T. Myers; due to dredging. This doesn’t mean that Agate Beach is not worth visiting! Agate Beach has incredible surfing opportunities.
