Glaswegian cuisine meets Vegan Fast Food Takeaway! This spot is rapidly growing in its popularity due to their pride in a cruelty free menu, sustainable produce, and ethical suppliers. Don’t be surprised if this small venue is bursting with customers! They offer dine-in, outdoor seating, and In-store pickup. The Glasvegan is right in the center of Glasgow and is perfect for vegan brunch, lunch, or an early dinner. Open from 9-6 on weekends, and 9-5 on weekdays. They present excellent cakes, and offer a fantastic breakfast menu. They serve tasty coffees, smoothies, and milkshakes. I highly recommend ordering a wrap, and the ‘soup of the day’ off their lunch menu. With helpful staff, an affordable menu, and a cozy atmosphere; you’ll feel right at home! This is certainly a vegan staple in Glasgow.

Suissi Vegan Kitchen is a hidden gem in the West End. This is a family owned restaurant, and a wonderful independent business to support. They offer a fresh Malaysian-inspired sharing style menu. Their food is handmade with no MSG. They have an extensive takeaway menu, and also offer delivery options. Suissi Vegan Kitchen was ranked very highly for Best Vegan Restaurants Worldwide on HappyCow, and there’s no wonder why! I highly recommend their award winning Curry Laksa. Suissi Vegan Kitchen recently won Noodles Restaurant of the Year for the second year in a row in the Scottish Asian Food Awards 2023!
Mono is a vegan bar and cafe that has developed a reputation for “good beer, good vegan food, good gigs, and good times,” according to their website. I couldn’t agree more. Open seven days a week, Mono presents a fresh menu that is 100% free from animal products! They have a relatively small kitchen for their large venue, and I suggest making a reservation. You can inspect their website to see when they are hosting international and local bands, exhibitions, book readings, art performances, and workshops. Another reason to check out their event calendar, as their events can sometimes change their kitchens opening times. I have to suggest you order their Haggis Potato Cakes. They are stupendous! I also recommend their Pizza Crunch: a Scottish staple with a twist. Their Mac-n-cheese is top notch as well. And don’t forget to have a look at their drink menu!

Soul Food Kitchen takes significant strides to promote plant based food for your wellness. They aim to make nutritionally balanced vegan food, accessible to the people of Glasgow. An admirable endeavor, if I do say so. They have created a delightful community, building well balanced and healthy lives through events and workshops. A great example is their Sauerkraut Masterclass! Pay a visit to their website and see what they have to offer when you’re spending time in beautiful Glasgow. They have an extensive drink menu, including many cold pressed juices, kombucha, coffees, and teas. Their food menu presents an abundance of plant based delicacies, including risotto, burrito bowls, burgers, ramen, roasts, and many astounding desserts! Soul Food Kitchen is a great selection if you feel like a refresher from “vacation” food while eating out, and away from home.

This bar and restaurant is a lively music venue, with an entirely vegan menu. The Hug and Pint is located in Glasgow’s west end, near Saint George’s Cross. They serve a £5 margarita everyday, and have an outstanding range of drinks. This is a friendly place with affordable food, served tapa style. Their kitchen is open until 10pm daily, and they host live music basically every night. Explore their website to see who’s playing! They host all kinds, from local bands, to touring artists from around the world. Their menu is quite elusive, as they have changing seasonal items. They do post on their Instagram when they come out with new vegan dishes. It’s best to swing by to find out what terrific food is on, and what music is playing when you’re in town!

Another fabulous music venue! Stereo is a dedicated vegan bar and kitchen. All of their food is 100% plant-based, and there are so many beautiful dishes to choose from. One of my favorites was the Handmade Mushroom Pierogi which was so savory and tangy! Their version of “fish and chips” is outstanding, and made with banana blossoms. I don’t know how they do it, but the texture is incredible. And you can’t skip on their Chili & Garlic Chips. This is a lively little spot to enjoy Glasgow nightlife, and some splendid food that is unlike anything you’ve tried before.

Non Viet Ba is a sister restaurant to one of three Non Viet locations. This new addition on Dumbarton Road is their FULLY VEGAN location! I have not been to their other locations, but they do offer vegan and vegetarian options on their menus. This is one of my absolute favorites on the list. Their food is so fresh and so healthy. You will not regret trying authentic Vietnamese (and vegan) cuisine in Glasgow. Their Pho is perfect for the winter weather. Their dishes are absolutely packed with veggies and vibrant taste. Their Ha Long Fried Cakes do a brilliant job of imitating fish, and they will blow you away! I’m excited to go back and try the dishes that I wasn’t able to order the first time around.

They have many specials including their Haggis Crunchwrap, Sloppy Joes, and Meatball Subs. They have a wonderful assortment of burgers, and pancakes. And, they are proud to announce that everything is completely vegan! They present an impressive menu, mirrored by a cute and pastel environment, with outdoor seating. Their drink menu is remarkable with options like Turmeric Lattes and tropical smoothies. This is a simple spot to calm your mind while in the rush of the city.

This Breakfast & Brunch Restaurant is located in the basement of 263 Renfrew Street. It has a cozy and modern atmosphere with quirky décor. It’s an exceptional place to celebrate any occasion or enjoy an intimate meal. With twinkling lights overhead, an absolutely first-class staff, and traditional Scottish meals, you can’t miss a chance to take in this spot! The menu is not completely vegan, but has many vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. I ordered their ‘Vegan Breakfast’ which is brilliant for the weary traveler. It’s warm, bursting with flavor, and filling. A much needed meal after a long day of traveling. The Vegan Haggis is delicious, and now one of my favorite foods! I highly recommend this spot.

If you’re in Glasgow and you like pizza…then you have to try Nonna Said. Nonna Said so!
They are known for making the best Napoli-style vegan pizza, and for being the best non-vegan restaurant to have a vegan menu. You’ll have to try this one out for yourself because their vegan cheese, and their cocktails are epic. Quoted from their website: “Explore where Italian classics meet Scottish favorites. Dinnae miss out on our vegan specials.” This is an inviting spot, where they have music, game tables, and delicious cocktails. From street food and fajitas, to notable dips; Nonna’s got it all! Their regular menu, as well as their vegan menus, are also featured at Blackfriars of Bell Street Pub, if you want to eat the same food with a change of scenery.

Nice N Sleazy is located in the Glasgow city center, right in the heart of Glasgow’s nightlife. They are a small music venue and dive bar (in a good way), that offer rotating food vendors. Keep an eye on their website, or give them a call to see what food they’re offering when you stop in. The pop-up restaurants may change frequently, and always have wonderful vegan options. You can also visit their website for a schedule of open mic nights, and to see who’s playing when you arrive! This spot is usually quite crowded since they always have bands playing. Their vegan junk food always hits the spot. Weather you’re vegan or not, this is a marvelous spot for a taste of Glasgow’s nightlife.

August House is famous for a cocktail night. They offer signature cocktails by an expert mixologist and have DJs playing 5 nights a week. They also have a “Brands We Love” menu showcasing local businesses with their own custom cocktails. Make sure to check that your cocktail is vegan before ordering, because they do serve non-vegan food as well. Their Vegan Menu perfectly mirrors their Main Menu so if you follow a plant-based diet, there’s no way you’ll feel like you’re missing out. They definitely give you your money’s worth with tasty and filling starters. I recommend their Not Chicken Curry Spring Roll, and their Haggis & Pepper Sauce Burger. Gotta love that vegan haggis! They have tasty floats and sundaes that succeed in placing them above the rest. Their interior is superb for taking photos with their disco vibe, and their fun mirror ball ceiling.

Definitely frequent this independent coffee shop if you want to feel like a local. They are located on Sauchiehall Street, which loosely translates to ‘Alley of Willows’ in Gaelic. This lovely café has an array of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free specials. They have the BEST coffee. Whether it’s their special – Dirty Pumpkin latte or a classic Americano, they certainly know what they’re doing. Their cakes are baked fresh by their chefs, in house. Bavarian Bakehouse is an artisan bakery that create Willow Grove’s vegan pastries and breads from scratch, each morning. I encourage you to try their Shakshuka(which my husband loved) and their Baked rolls, where you can add an assortment of delectable fillings. The Avo Toast is exceptional, and probably not like any you’ve had before with its tomato salsa and beetroot hummus. There’s just something special about this place that keeps you coming back for more. I’m looking forward to trying even more from their menu in the near future!

Stepping through the doors of Bloc is like walking into another world with a vibrant ambiance. This unique and ever growing music bar has a hectic, yet charming interior. Bloc is located just a 10 minute walk away from King’s Theatre, and The Theatre Royal. Bloc offers different daily deals with vegan options available. They have a Vegan and Vegetarian Menu, as well as a Meat Lovers Menu. Their vegan menu is next level, with the best loaded nachos, hot dogs, ribs, falafel, and great sides. If you’re a fan of realistically meat-like vegan food, then you have to try their burgers. The cheese alone will have you second guessing if it’s really vegan!

This is a restaurant with a daily changing menu, suitable for vegetarians and vegans alike. They serve around 30 bottles of fine natural wines, some of which are also seasonal. The interior is open, bright, and laid back. Their helpful staff will give you recommendations on what to order and they know what they’re talking about! They have lovely Veggie sharing Plates, an assortment of wines, cocktails, and beers. You’ll be lucky to try their orange wine if it’s in season when you go!
Stop by Maki & Ramen for the best ramen you will ever eat. Their vegan Katsu and Sushi is fantastic. Modeled after traditional Japanese ramen shops; they are proud of their quality noodles and broth. They have multiple locations each with a stunning interior featuring flower ceilings, sticky note walls, and more. They offer fresh sushi rolls and an exotic cocktail menu. If you’re looking for a first-rate dining experience, or just some traditional ramen in Glasgow; Maki & Ramen is the right place for you.
Madha is an Authentic North and South Indian restaurant. This family eatery serves traditional dishes with exceptional quality.
