Coyote Burger is a popular burger restaurant with great portion sizes. Coyote’s is located close to Inverness Castle and many other restaurants, bars, and the train station. They serve loaded fries, chicken bites, and milkshakes, along with beef, chicken, vegetarian, and vegan burgers. Their vegan options are their Vegan Cheeseburger, and Vegan Bacon Cheeseburger; both served with Coyote’s Vegan Burger Sauce. The staff are super welcoming and their space is wide and comfortable with tall windows showing off a view of River Ness. There is always marvelous music playing, and if you haven’t had IRN BRU; “Scotland’s other National drink,” then here’s your chance to try it for the first time!

Wild Wee Pancakes is a family owned pancake and crepe café in Inverness. They make sweet and savory crepes and pancakes. Wild Wee Pancakes is not completely vegan, but their menu is superb for people following a vegetarian, vegan, or gluten free diet! Over half of their ingeniously created pancake flavors are vegan or gluten free, and well marked on their menu. Just to name a few of their vegan options; they have Chocolate and Orange Pancakes, Peanut Butter and Jam Pancakes, and Chocolate Pancakes served with either dark or hazelnut chocolate. Rendezvous Vintage Cinema Café is another excellent choice for breakfast or lunch. This is one of the most famous eateries in Inverness serving traditional Scottish meals with a modern menu. Rendezvous is showcasing their musical history in the heart of the Old City, giving you a unique experience. Their vegetarian breakfasts come with many vegan options to fill your plate. On the spot where the Rendezvous Café stands today was once home to The Northern Meeting Rooms, that from 1790 hosted balls attended by royalty, and some of the biggest music get-togethers in town. In 1960 they were visited by The Silver Beatles; a band backing up the singer Johnny Gentle who a few weeks after visiting, changed their band name to The Beatles! Café De Paulo is located in historic Victoria Market in the middle of Inverness. Café De Paulo serves up Scottish flare with a Spanish twist. They have a few vegan options including their scrumptious coffees, veggie haggis, soups, salads, and avocado toast. There aren’t many vegan options but many dishes can be altered. They have a delectable Vegan Chickpea Salad and their Veggie Roll with veggie haggis is amazing. Victoria Market was opened on the 15th of May, 1870. The market burnt down in 1889, and reopened in 1891. You can see historical photos of Inverness above business all throughout the market. Victoria Market has an array of eateries and shops. Their businesses are perfect for finding souvenirs. They have a seating area for eating and listening to live music! Café De Paulo is a nice little spot for visiting the market in the morning, or before heading out to explore the Scottish Highlands!

Perk Coffee and Doughnuts is a café by day and an espresso martini bar by night. They create expert coffees and beautifully hand-crafted doughnuts and pastries right in the heart of Inverness. They are famous for their gorgeous doughnuts with lots of vegan options. They make fantastic Lattes, Americano, Cortado, and Flat Whites, and they have impressive and unique cocktails. Perk serves savory lunches like their Vegan Mozzarella Sandwich, which comes with sundried tomato, rocket, and pesto, and their Beetroot Hummus Sandwich served on a croissant with avocado, chili and rocket. It is so good! These are the best doughnuts in Inverness, so make sure that you get there before the daily specials run out! Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the doughnuts and toasties that we ordered, but you can view their creations on their website and Instagram. Perk is a cute little shop located next to the Church Street entrance to Victoria Market!

This is a family run live music pub with traditional dishes, live traditional Scottish music, and weekly Ceilidh with dancing. Mumford and Sons, Sam Fender, Jake Bugg, Dougie Mclean, and Skerryvore have all played at Hootananny! There are limited vegan options to choose from but their traditional Scottish music and atmosphere makes this one that you cannot miss when visiting Inverness. Some of their vegan options include Homemade Sweet Potato and Pesto Salad, and Vegetable Curry. Check out their website to see who’s playing when you visit. MacGregor’s Bar Inverness has been awarded the Best Bar in Scotland Thistle Awards 2022/23, and has won many other achievements over the years. This is the finest place for Scottish food and music. Some of their menu is written in Gaelic, and there is history all over the walls. They are home to the Highland Malt Whiskey Experience; which according to their website, is a chance to immerse yourself in the history, music, and whiskey of the Highlands. Their staff are excellent on helping with food and drink pairings. They do not have many vegan options but the experience is well worth it. they have a filling Vegan Burger with vegan cheese. MacGregor’s is the natural habitat of the Highland musician, and they welcome famous players who you can often find tucked in the corner enjoying the music. They are located across the street from the famous Leakey’s Bookstore, and they are passionate and proud of Scotland’s history and culture.
